Flip-Pal™ Mobile Scanner – Demo of Stitching Software

flip-palWith the holidays drawing near, the Flip-Pal™ mobile scanner has been the topic of discussion as people are scanning photos to create homemade holiday gifts.  Last year, I was fortunate enough to receive the Flip-Pal™ mobile scanner for free in exchange for participating in the Simple Gifts Blog Hop.  I ended up doing two projects:

In addition, I also experimented with the stitching software, which allows you to piece together several scans of a larger image.  So, say for example you have a family portrait that measures 16" x 20" and you want to have a digital copy.  Most personal flatbed scanners are not able to scan something that big.  And personal wand scanners are also too small.  So how can you get a digital image of that family portrait?  You could take a photograph of it, but the quality may not be all that great.  For the best outcome, use the Flip-Pal™ mobile scanner.  Take the scanner and collect several overlapping scans of the entire portrait.  Then you use the stitching software to put the image together and viola, that 16" x 20" family portrait is now in a digital format. Below is a video demonstration of how the stitching software works.  It’s actually quite incredible.  If you have trouble seeing the video, you can head over to YouTube and view it here:  http://youtu.be/tDTxZct2_LM.

I LOVE the stitching software. I had previously been using a camera and stitching software to achieve the same purpose before I owned a flip pal. It never worked well with scanned images. The FlipPal solved all that! Their stitching software not only has better results, it is so easy to use. Anyone can do it, even kids!
